The 43rd World Food Day Celebration in East Java

Garda Pangan participated in the main celebration of the 43rd World Food Day, held on October 15, 2023, at the JX International Convention Exhibition Surabaya. During the event, Garda Pangan joined its partners in celebrating World Food Day 2023 by distributing 500 portions of meals and pastries to the community. All donated food was prepared and distributed by Garda Pangan volunteers using a food truck provided by Bapanas.

The 43rd World Food Day celebration was also attended by the Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa; the Head of Bapanas, Arief Prasetyo Adi; the Head of Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Provinsi Jawa Timur, Dydik Rudy Prasetya; general managers from Garda Pangan's partner hotels; and the GM of Sustainability Superindo. They had the opportunity to observe firsthand how Garda Pangan handles and redistributes surplus food. The event was enthusiastically welcomed by the community members in attendance.

This annual celebration served as an important opportunity to raise public awareness about the importance of food rescue efforts, in line with the message displayed on the Bapanas food truck: "Stop Food Waste, #YukSelamatkanPangan #PanganKuatIndonesiaBerdaulat." Garda Pangan extends its sincere appreciation to Dinas Pertanian dan Ketahanan Pangan Provinsi Jawa Timur for organizing the event, as well as to all partners and supporters who contributed to its success.
