Garda Pangan was invited to conduct a workshop on plastic waste at Surabaya European School (SES) on Monday, April 20, 2026. Through this workshop, Garda Pangan shared its experience on the environmental impacts of using plastic as food packaging. The workshop was attended by students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 and was delivered through a plenary session combined with role-playing activities to encourage active participation and enthusiasm.

The workshop began with a role-playing activity involving the students. The scenario, designed by the Garda Pangan team, illustrated the use of single-use plastics in everyday food purchasing. This activity aimed to encourage children to develop the habit of bringing reusable shopping bags or food containers when buying food. During the plenary session, the students also learned about alternative packaging options for everyday use, such as tote bags, besek (traditional woven bamboo containers), banana leaves, and other reusable or environmentally friendly food packaging.
